904L Stainlees Steel: The Same Grade Rolex Uses
Most watch brands, including most Seiko Mod sellers, build their cases from 316L stainless steel. It's the industry standard, and sure, it's usable, but it doesn't meet our standards. Waqtic builds every watch with 904L stainless steel. The same grade popular botique brands (like Rolex) market as Oystersteel.
904L is harder to machine, more expensive to source, and takes a noticeably brighter, more refined polish than 316L. It also offers superior corrosion resistance, which means it holds its finish longer under daily wear. The difference is visible on the wrist from day one, and it compounds over years of use.
At a price point where most Seiko mod sellers won't invest in 904L, we make it standard across the entire catalog.

What crystal do Waqtic watches use?
All Waqtic Seiko mods are fitted with sapphire crystal. Sapphire is rated 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it virtually scratch-proof under normal wearing conditions. This is a significant upgrade over the Hardlex mineral glass found on factory Seiko watches in the same price range.
Are Waqtic watches replicas or counterfeits?
No. Waqtic watches are not replicas, counterfeits, or affiliated with any luxury watch brand. They are independently designed, custom-built timepieces that draw aesthetic inspiration from iconic watch designs while using genuine Seiko movements and premium aftermarket components.
Can I build a custom Seiko mod?
Yes. Waqtic offers an online watch customizer where you can select your case, dial, bezel, hands, strap, and other components to create a one-of-a-kind watch. For designs beyond what the customizer offers, you can reach out via email to discuss a fully bespoke build.
What is 904L stainless steel, and why does it matter?
904L is a higher-grade stainless steel alloy most famously used by Rolex for their watch cases. Compared to the industry-standard 316L used by most Seiko mod sellers, 904L offers greater corrosion resistance and takes a brighter, more refined polish. It is harder to machine and more expensive to source, which is why most competitors do not use it.
What is a Seiko mod?
A Seiko mod is a modified watch that uses an authentic Seiko movement. This is combined with third-party high-quality parts.
How long will it take for me to receive the watch?
When you place an order, we order the parts for your design right away.
The entire process usually takes about 20 days .
Here's how it works:
Parts normally arrive within 2-3 weeks (including Saturday and Sunday)
When we receive the parts, we build the clock the same day
The watch will be shipped to you as soon as possible after assembly.
We also have some watches in stock from time to time - these are clearly marked.
Shipping is always included when you buy a watch from us.
Will I get a warranty on the watch?
Every watch from our workshop comes with a free 1-year warranty . This warranty covers manufacturing defects and operating problems under normal use.
Please note that the warranty does not cover scratches, damage resulting from opening the watch, or water resistance issues, as our watches are not designed for swimming or similar activities even though they are water resistant. The warranty only covers defects related to the movement.
Do you use genuine Seiko movements?
Yes, we use genuine Seiko movements. We buy from manufacturers who sell authentic Seiko movements, so you can be sure of the quality. Once you have received your watch, you can easily have this confirmed by a watchmaker.
